The Last CEO · the compute market · live
The price of machine thought.
The canonical daily price of compute, denominated in the cog — one normalized reference-model token (1 TCU = 1000 cogs). The Brent crude of machine fuel: full-reserve, auditable, and self-correcting.

- The cog is defined by a pinned, public reference model (
openai/gpt-4o-mini-2024-07-18); every other model converts via a public, constitution-governed factor derived from its price. - Prices are curated from public provider pricing pages — providers expose no price API. Not a live feed.
- Each published day is frozen and append-only — a day's value never changes. The level is divisor-pinned (opens at 1000) and stays continuous across basket changes.
- The index audits its own unit: when factors drift from real prices it says so (the dispersion flag) rather than hiding it.
- Informational during the pre-license phase — no fund, no advice.
